Mold in your Elkhart Basement?
6/30/2017 (Permalink)
Flooded basements are very difficult to properly dry-out quickly which makes them a common area for mold growth. Lifting up carpeting and cutting holes in the dywall might be necessary to properly dry-out and prevent mold growth. Mold in the basement is usually caused by seepage from a crack in the foundation. The mold growth is often localized near the crack. Being that this is generally the place where storage occurs, items should sit at least 6 inches off the ground on a shelf or rack, and be at least 6 inches from the walls. Should there become a mold problem, personal belongings are safe.
